Julie Picarello's gorgeous mixed media polymer clay focal grouping design and beaded kumihimo are the perfect pairing.
The focal grouping is handcrafted by Julie in her northern California studio.
Julie's designs are based on an adaptation of the ancient Japanese 'mokume gane' metalworking technique.
Julie's design using polymer clay as a base with embellishments of 23K gold leaf and metallic powder. with embossing techniques creates wearable art work.
I used Toho treasure beads in a matte black to support the focal without distraction.
This necklace measures 20 inches with a 4.75 inches in width and 2.25 inches in length at the longest and widest points.
Antique brass details accent the touch of gold leaf found within Julie's design.
