Re-Design and Repair Requests
To be eco-conscience is to re-purpose, repair or re-design what you
already own. How many times have you opened your jewelry box to find what you'd really love to wear has a broken
clasp or looks a little out dated. You loved it once enough to buy it, then keep it even though you couldn't
wear it.
I'll be posting before and after examples from clients employing this service.
You'll
be helping me with one of my Goals; To promote the use of GREEN materials and GREEN awareness when ever possible.

The client said the clasp always hurt her wrist and she
wanted to see if I could do something about that. You can see the bracelet was made with beautiful lampwork beads
but the workmanship isn't the best it could be. The black and clear crystals between the lampwork beads aren't
giving any contrast or complement to the lampwork beads. The toggle clasp is too big and the the feet of the gecko and
cross bar hurt her wrist.
Solution was to work with each lampwork bead individually to accent their individual colors with Swarovski® crystals
and have the center bead as a neutral accented with Swarovski® aurora borealis crystals. I changed all the
base metal to sterling silver and selected a smaller less ornate toggle clasp. I paid attention to the workmanship,
using wire guards and crimp covers, to ensure the bracelet is going to hold up for the long term and everyday wear.

The client loved the carved bone beads of this necklace but had wanted it
to be restrung and possibly remove the white seed beads. No one was able to do this for her.
Solution
was to apply traditional bead knotting using silk cording. Then change the white plastic seed beads with amber Japanese
seed beads to accent the tone of the carved bone beads. Placing the Japanese seed beads between the knots and carved
wooden beads gave a little touch of iridescence . The necklace is finished with antique gold bead knot covers and toggle
clasp.

This necklace was a gift given to my client. The clasp needed
repair and my client had always thought it would be nice if the blues and reds in the larger beads were also part of the necklace
design. The larger beads are actually 'Wedding Cake' beads from India. The bronze, blue and red accents
that decorate these glass beads are traditional.
Solution was to restring the necklace on beading wire and use Czech glass and Swarovski® crystals to accent the Wedding Cake beads.
The necklace is finished with a 14K Gold Fill lobster claw.
